Fiber Glass Reinforced Plastics

Reinforcement products are used to make a wide range of reinforced plastics products which are used in construction, marine, automotive, anti-corrosion, electrical/electronic and sports/consumer goods markets.

• Roving is made of a number of continuous strands without twisting, and is wound up in a cylinder-type package.
• Depending upon the molding process and/or end-use applications, different types of GLASRON Rovings are lined up.

• Type-30 Roving is recommended for use in the filament winding process.
• In weaving operations, it provides a high efficiency when woven to fabrics with a single end strand. Some characteristics, such a high strand integrity, no catenary and better runnability from a package are unique properties to this type of roving. In addition, wet-out is much faster and strength per strand is relatively greater.

Woven Roving is an open mesh type fabrics made of roving, which is generally heavier and thicker than general types of fabrics made of yarn.

Woven Roving is widely used in hand-lay up processes to make large structures, such as boats, water tanks and other large, thick products.

• Chopped Strands are now being used as reinforcing materials to be mixed with various kinds of thermoplastics (FTP), for thermosets (BMC), or recently as basic materials for making glass paper.
• Different types of Chopped Strands are available—different in chopped length, size & binder, strand integrity, etc.
• The available strand lengths are 1.5mm(1/16"), 3mm(1/8"), 6mm(1/4"), 13mm(1/2"), 25mm(1"), and 50mm(2"), 3mm and 6mm are our standard products.

• Chopped Strand Mat is a jack-straw pattern mat made of chopped strands bonded together by polyester resin binder.
• Chopped Strand Mat is strong in all directions, and has been used widely in a variety of molding processes, but mainly in hand-lay up process.
• Chopped Strand Mat has better wetting properties, it is easier to remove air-bubbles, and it comforms better to a mold.
